1976 Jaguar XJ6 - Full car leather & vinyl interior restoration

This Jaguar XJ6 had its original 1976 interior. The vehicle had completed under 40k miles and had been well cared for

That said after so many years the original leather & vinyl (in Jaguar Biscuit) had lost a lot of its colour.

The vinyl in the car, door cards, central console and seat sides had faded or been worn away to a different colour.

Fortunately most original Jaguar colours are available from my British supplier. I checked with Jaguar that the vehicle interior had been Biscuit when it rolled out of Brown's Lane.

All the interior leather and vinyl was chemically cleaned and prepared for recolouring, all damage was repaired.

The seats were removed from the car and all leather prepared for recolouring. Careful masking was needed on the door cards and centre console

Four fine layers of Biscuit colourant and then 4 fine layers of matt sealant were applied to all the interior.

I hope you agree that the results are fantastic. The pictures don't do the interior justice and its looks the same as it would have when it was delivered, but with some patina.

Testimonials

I would have no hesitation in recommending Colin. His work is first class and he preserved the originality of my Jaguar's interior, whilst bringing it back to showroom condition. The leather was faded and very dirty in patches and the interior vinyl components had faded due to age and UV exposure. Colin brought all of the interior back to as new condition and the colour match between leather seats, vinyl door cards and vinyl console is now perfect. It even smells like a new car inside. I felt that Colin went the extra mile and was as keen to achieve as good a result as I was. He has tremendous attention to detail and charges a reasonable price for what is a highly labour-intensive process. In conclusion I am delighted with the result and will be bringing more Classics to Colin in future.
